Three Athletes In Contention for Young Sports Star Prize

Lionesses forward Michelle Agyemang, darts sensation Luke Littler and cricketer Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the 2025 Young Sports Personality of the Year award.
These three athletes have been recognised for their outstanding achievements over the last year.
Agyemang played a key role in helping the Lionesses claim victory in Euro 2025, Littler won the world title for the very first time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a record-breaking innings.
Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his breakthrough year.
The three contenders were revealed during a live broadcast on a national radio breakfast show.
This year's winner will be revealed live on the prestigious sports ceremony show on December 18th.
The show will be televised from seven in the evening GMT.
Agyemang's Profile

Just three months after her first cap for her country, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to European Championship victory.
She entered the fray to score crucial late equalisers in both the quarter-final and semi-final.
Her incredible contributions led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.
Afterwards, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the best young player in Europe.
She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.
Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.
"Being on the shortlist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is incredible," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans."
The Darts Prodigy

Littler's 2025 began in sensational style as - aged 17 - he became the youngest darts world champion in history.
He secured a commanding win over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth competitor to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.
And he wasn't finished there - his win in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the maiden occasion.
At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, smashing the previous record.
"To receive a nomination for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a big honour," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a proud moment for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."
Perrin's Profile

Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and rose to fame with an remarkable and historic innings in August.
Her magnificent 42-ball century in The Hundred is the speediest century from an England batswoman in T20s.
It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.
Perrin came in second place in the batting rankings and was named the Professional Cricketers' Association's top young women's player.
"I'm incredibly grateful to be nominated for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it motivates more girls to get into cricket."
