Since the launch of the fourth campaign, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of personalities, and a exciting storyline showcasing divine entities, evil spirits, and dark forces expanding in influence within the city.

Note: Key plot points for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 follow below.

The Soldiers Table Introduced

The third episode concluded with a major cliffhanger and revealed the first table of adventurers who will separate from the central cast to undertake their independent quest, distinct from the remaining groups.

The combat-focused team consists of Teor Pridesire (brought to life by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).

The Reason for Division

With a large ensemble, it was clear from the beginning that keeping everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.

This explains, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Introduction, connecting the personal journeys before branching into three separate parties: Soldiers, Strategists, and Questers.

The Nature of the Warrior Group

According to the DM, the warrior group is for players who are drawn to a classically intense fight-heavy narrative style where non-violent answers are rare.

Initially, characters like the reluctant priest the cleric might look mismatched, but the events of the latest installment make it clear why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the combat party.

Motivations for Departure

For one thing, the team has a clear idea where to go next after a brutal opening clash with the enemy group.

An old friend of the deceased character—whose passing started the narrative’s action—exploited The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, entering the secret base, assaulting the rogue, and taking all the powerful objects to auction.

Casimir then paid off his debts and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd hot on his heels.

Personal Motivations

Additionally, each member has a specific drive to leave the city the urban setting:

  • Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, desires revenge.
  • The knowledgeable figure has experience in the northern area and cautions that it is a dangerous location.
  • The warrior and Wicander, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to execute Teor and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
  • Yet, their reputation as key figures in the influential clan could assist the group reach places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Moreover, The grateful character swore a eternal obligation to The cleric for his rescue and will now follow him everywhere.

Fugitives

In addition, all of them are wanted by the rulers that control Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making staying in the city no longer safe:

  • The rogue and The hero are notorious outlaws.
  • The warrior and Wicander defied House Halovar and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
  • Teor is targeted for elimination by the clan.

This results in them no alternative but to head to the remote area in pursuit of the traitor.
