Iranian forces say they have struck a American military facility in Manama, as Iran launched missile attacks throughout the Middle East in response for a "massive" and continuing attack against it by the United States and Israeli forces.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone in the area of the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any damage is unclear and the United States has not commented.

Regional Interceptions

Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - which all house American military installations - stated they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their air space.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had intercepted a number of projectiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the Middle East.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was targeting US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on Iran initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday.

That US-Israeli operation - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on sites linked to the the regime, with President Trump encouraging the Iranian people to rise up against the leadership.

Regional Fallout

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The defence ministry of the UAE announced that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses engaged the projectiles with notable success and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," it added.

Officials reported wreckage landed in a populated district in the capital, resulting in some structural damage and the death of one civilian.

The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
