Beloved Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Appearances in Seinfeld and The Middle, Passes Away at the Age of Sixty.

Stateside entertainer Finn, who appeared in beloved programs such as Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has died aged 60.

The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California on Monday after undergoing treatment for cancer since 2022, per news outlets.

"He considered no one a stranger - solely future friends he didn't know yet," his family shared in a message.

They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".

A Notable Television Career

His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the lead character's sibling.

He also had a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.

He played the part of a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, playing a social organizer who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.

Throughout the 90s and 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of hit series, like:

  • The King of Queens
  • Friends
  • "That '70s Show"
  • "House"

Finn was perhaps best known for portraying the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight series between 2011 and 2018.

His work in movies encompass It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

A Life in Improv

Away from his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and served as an educator at the Colorado university, where he was a professor.

He was a member of a six-person improv troupe named "Beer Shark Mice".

"He guided, supported, and advised numerous pupils during his career and it would be difficult to find a person anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

Offering condolences, colleague and actor actor Richard Kind noted there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote on social media.

The actor is leaves behind his partner Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
